Trail Name: Kur und Wein (Cure and Wine) – Rundwanderweg LT 17
Trail Type: Long distance circuit trail; variety of paved or hard-packed surfaces, to include stairs; well maintained, and fairly well-marked, once beyond Bismarckstrasse in Bad Mergentheim.
Length: Total: 16.25 kilometers/ 11 miles
Convenient to: Wuerzburg, Germany
Marking: LT 17 (and Panoramaweg in Bad Mergentheim)
Trail Description: This trail covers town and country, over hill and dale, through small and larger urban centers. It is a good half day trail to hike when in the area, but due to length and few shaded areas, best avoided in the heat of summer.

Bad Mergentheim: In Parkplatz Galgenberg, on B290, about 1.5 kilometers/1 mile north of the entrance to the “Wildpark” (Note: Most parking in town costs money.)
Igersheim: Alter Graben, or Burgstrasse
Markelsheim: Engelsbergstr by the Feuerwehr (Fire) station (Don’t park in the fire truck exit, marked in red.)

Rail: Deutsche Bahn regional trains service both Markelsheim and Bad Mergentheim from Wuerzburg, and to Crailsheim, on the Romantic Road.

Both Markelsheim and Bad Mergentheim have cafes, pubs and restaurants; however only Markelsheim has vintners on or close by the trail.
Alternative Options:
Hiking: Along parts of the way, this trail follows a section the Wuerttembergische Weinwanderweg, and the multinational Jakobsweg (the Camino de Santiago, or the Way of Saint James).
