Trail Name: Circuit Viticulturel or Wain a Kulturpad

Trail Type: A short distance; almost exclusively paved, (except about a kilometer, if using a grassy shoulder along a road), well maintained, but not a lot of trail signage.

Length: Total: 10 kilometers/ 6 miles

Convenient to: Remich or Schengen, Luxembourg

Trail Description:

A pleasant, fairly easy walk through mostly vineyards and typical wine villages, passing as well through some wooded areas and fields. Views onto the Moselle river, as well as the hills and deep dales of the hinterland.

Trailhead(s):

Bech-Kleinmacher: intersection of Route 152 and Rue de L’Eglise (official)

Parking Possibilities:

Bech-Kleinmacher: Lot at the intersection of Route 10 and Rue de L’Eglise

Wellenstein: Rue des Caves (but watch for some restricted spots), opposite the Caves de Wellenstein

Attractions on or near Trail:

Pseudo-Roman temple: site of a Roman cemetery with explanation boards in French and German (inside), outside there is a swing for two with a great view of several Luxembourg villages, the Moselle, and Germany.

Open-Air exhibits in Schwebsange/Schwebsingen, along the route

A Possen Museum: set in a complex of former homes, displays village life a century ago, and has an interesting wine display.

Comments:

Three languages may be seen in Luxembourg. The name of this route is indicated in Luxembourgish – Wain a Kulturpad, and French – Circuit Viticulturel.

Schwebsange is the name of the town in French, and as such is found on Google maps and many navigation systems. It is known as Schwebsingen in German. Schweidsbengen is Luxembourgish, and is also on some signs.
